2017年11月6～17日にドイツ・ボンにて、国連気候変動枠組条約第23回締約国会議（UNFCCC-COP23）が開催されます。笹川平和財団海洋政策研究所は、パリでのCOP21（2015年）、マラケシュで開催されたCOP22（2016年）において、グローバル・オーシャン・フォーラム（GOF）、ユネスコ政府間海洋学委員会（UNESCO-IOC）らとともに、海洋と気候に関わる政策提言のためのサイドイベントを2年間連続で開催し、政策提言書「Roadmap to Oceans and Climate Action（ROCA）」を作成・発表しました。

今年のUNFCCC-COP23においても、下記の通り、11月11日（土）に政策提言イベント「オーシャンズ・アクション・デー」をGOFらと主催いたします。当該イベントでは、世界の首脳や大臣、有識者、実務家を含むハイレベルな登壇者らが、海洋と気候に関わる課題、今後の具体的な行動、パリ協定の実施状況などについて議論し提言します。当財団からは、海洋政策研究所所長の角南篤ほか研究員が登壇します。

本イベントの結果は後日ウェブサイトにて報告いたします。笹川平和財団海洋政策研究所は引き続き、海洋環境の保全や持続可能な開発にかかわる諸問題に対し、積極的に取り組んでまいります。
