1981年 北海道大学工学部卒業、2001年 北海道大学大学院工学研究科修了（工学博士）、1981~1991年 東亜建設工業株式会社（東京支店、本社設計部）、1991~2016年 北日本港湾コンサルタント株式会社（技術部長、企画部長）、2016~2024年 北海道大学北極域研究センター （教授後に特任教授、副センター長）、2024年~ 北海道立オホーツク流氷科学センター（所長）
