On May 20, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation will host Dr. Andrew F. Krepinevich, President of the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, on Future of U.S. Defense Strategy and the Japan-U.S. Alliance.

Among other things, based on his professional experiences as an expert on U.S. defense policies as well as his newly published book,The Last Warrior: Andrew Marshall and the Shaping of Modern American Defense Strategy, his speech will touch on the history and future direction of the US Defense Strategy. Looking at the current changing international security environment, such as increasing Chinese military capability in Asia,
IS challenges in the Middle East, and the issue between Russia and Ukraine, he will also analyze the implication of the future U.S. defense strategy toward Japan-U.S. Alliance.

Details of the event are as follows:
Dr. Andrew F. Krepinevich President, The Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (USA)
Dr. Krepinevich is one of the leading American strategists on defense policies. Prior to join CSBA as a president, Dr. Krepinevich served for the United States Army for 21 years, serving in the Department of Defense’s Office of Net Assessment lead by Andrew Marshall, and on the personal staff of three secretaries of defense.
