Reconstructing Masculinities: Gender dynamics after conflict in Aceh, Maluku and Bangsamoro Mindanao

Reconstructing Masculinities: Gender dynamics after conflict in Aceh, Maluku and Bangsamoro Mindanao

This report is the result of our collaborative research in partnership with institutions in the U.S., the U.K., and Southeast Asia. We collected responses from 6,000 individuals, both men and women, across 3 conflict-affected regions in Southeast Asia, covering issues such as gender equality, gender norms, experiences of violence, mental health status, and perceptions of peacebuilding. Our partner institutions conducted focused group discussions and interviews, and both the quantitative and qualitative data has been analyzed in collaboration with our partners and activists on the ground.

Asia Women Impact Fund Social Impact Report 2023 -Impact on women as end beneficiaries

For any investments to qualify as an impact investment, it requires measurement of impact, one that goes beyond counting outputs. In 2023, The Asia Women Impact Fund conduct a social impact study to dive deeper to understand impact outcomes to women as end beneficiaries. This report has started to unveil the positive outcomes on end beneficiaries and the impact on women of the AWIF, and we hope that this will serve as another important data point that continues to promote and substantiate the benefits of Gender Lens Investing (GLI) in Asia and beyond.

SPF Policy Proposal: Shaping Pragmatic and Effective Strategy Toward China

SPF Policy Proposal: Shaping Pragmatic and Effective Strategy Toward China

Sasakawa Peace Foundation's project " Shaping the Pragmatic and Effective Strategy toward China" (2020-) aims to deter Chinese military adventurism, maintain a rules-based order in the Indo-Pacific region, continue the current economic prosperity of the United States and Japan, and guide China toward becoming a rules-oriented player in the region. The members of the project have discussed topics such as China's domestic politics and economy and future prospects, export control of sensitive technologies, the security environment in the East Asian region, and challenges to U.S.-Japan alliance cooperation. As a result of this research, we are now issuing policy proposal, "Shaping Pragmatic and Effective Strategy Toward China”.
