The Sasakawa Peace Foundation and The Congressional Study Group on Japan are pleased to invite you to attend a panel discussion on March 15 with two former Members of the United States Congress for a discussion on "The 2016 U.S. Presidential Election and the Future of American Politics."

Over the past few months, the American Presidential Election has seen one of the most unpredictable election cycles in recent history. The results from Super Tuesday and previous primaries revealed the angst and dissatisfaction American populous have towards the status quo of American politics. The 2016 Election so far has made many wonder where the U.S. will be heading in the year ahead.

A few hours before residents in five U.S. states cast votes at their primary, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation welcomes a bipartisan pair of former Members of Congress - one who served in Congress until 2015 and another deeply engaged in American politics since his departure from the Hill in 1993 - for a public forum to explore what is happening in America today and to analyze the presidential candidates' future policy objectives for the U.S. and the Asia-Pacific region. The panel will also welcome Prof. Toshihiro Nakayama of Keio University as a moderator to facilitate a dialogue involving the audience and the panelists.
