Photobook “Tak Bai 2004: Taste of Memories”
The Peacebuilding Program has produced a photobook, "Tak Bai 2004: Taste of Memories" as part of the Deep South Museum and Archives' Initiative project in collaboration with Silpakorn University in Thailand. This photobook is a unique attempt to portray the memories and experiences of the victims’ families of the Tak Bai incident and Muslim leaders through photographs, with the aim of promoting dialogues between the people of the Deep South Thailand and beyond.

“WHOLE” film screening at Sasakawa Peace Foundation
Director Bilal Kawazoe brings to light the struggles multiracial people face in Japan
The Asia and Middle East program organized a screening of the Japanese film “WHOLE” in collaboration with the Kobe Foreigners Friendship Center (KFC). The short film portrays the experiences of two biracial men who were born and raised in Japan. After the screening, a panel discussion by the director and actors of the film further highlighted the difficulties faced by multiracial people living in Japan.

The Peacebuilding Program in collaboration with Georgetown Institute of Women, Peace and Security (GIWPS), published their paper “Beyond Engaging Men: Masculinity, (Non)Violence, and Peacebuilding.” An archived video of the launch event organized in cooperation with the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations and the United States Mission to the United Nations is now available.
