Researcher Hajime TANAKA received the Best Poster Presentation Award at PICES 2022
Mr. Hajime Tanaka, researcher of OPRI, received the Best Poster Presentation Award for his research "Japanese Consumers' Demand for Traceability Information On Tokyo Bay Fish Passport" at the PICES-2022 Annual meeting held at Busan.

[Event Report] Report on the Workshop "Hakodate Input-Output Table and Blue Carbon"
The Ocean Policy Research Institute (OPRI) of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation held a workshop titled "Hakodate Input-Output Table and Blue Carbon" on Friday, June 10th at Fisheries and Oceans Hakodate in Hakodate-City, Hokkaido-Prefecture. OPRI has been working on the creation of an input-output table that breaks down the marine industry in Hakodate and analyzes policies based on the table.

[Extended] Call for participation in "One Ocean Expedition”
As part of its efforts to nurture the next generation of international leaders of ocean science, the Ocean Policy Research Institute (OPRI) of The Sasakawa Peace Foundation is seeking young leaders to join Norway's One Ocean Expedition, a circumnavigation of the globe. The large Norwegian sailing vessel, the Statsraad Lehmkuhl, is now sailing for The One Ocean Expedition, visiting 36 ports worldwide including the Port of Palau and Yokohama.

[Event] UN Ocean Conference and its Side Events
In connection with the 2022 UN Ocean Conference, to be held from 27 June to 1 July at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, there will be side events organized by Member States, Intergovernmental Organizations, UN entities and all other accredited stakeholders. Side events produced by Ocean Policy Research Institute, Sasakawa Peace Foundation (OPRI-SPF) will take place inside and outside of the Conference venue.

The 7th Our Ocean Conference will be held in Palau on April 13-14, 2022. The Ocean Policy Research Institute of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (OPRI-SPF), with the support of the Nippon Foundation, has been working with the Government of Palau since 2020 to prepare for the conference.
