Policy Recommendations by the Quadripartite Commission on the Indian Ocean Regional Security: Towards a more stable security environment in the Indian Ocean region

Stabilization of the security environment in the Indian Ocean region is extremely important for the peace and prosperity of the international community and the sustainable development of the region. For this reason, beginning in 2016 the Sasakawa Peace Foundation conducted a two-year collaborative research project in coordination with three research institutes in the United States, Australia and India – all countries that are much involved in the Indian Ocean region and that share democratic values – in order to examine the policies that the countries should adopt with regard to the region in the future. Based on the results of the study, the Quadripartite Commission on the Indian Ocean Regional Security formulated policy recommendation entitled "Policy Recommendations by the Quadripartite Commission on the Indian Ocean Regional Security: Towards a more stable security environment in the Indian Ocean region."
