Event Report: Public Forum
Europe’s role in Indo Pacific -Lithuania’s contribution-

On May 28, SPF and the Embassy of Lithuania to Japan hosted a public forum welcoming Her Excellency Dovilė Šakalienė, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania. Minister Sakaiene delivered a lecture on the newly formulated defense strategy, followed by a discussion on Europe’s role and Lithuania’s contributions to the Indo-Pacific region with SPF Executive Director Nobukatsu Kanehara and Senior Fellow Tsuneo Watanabe.

Michael C. Huang, OPRI Senior Research Fellow, Appointed to Advisory Board of 1000 Ocean Startups Coalition
Michael C. Huang, Senior Research Fellow at the Ocean Policy Research Institute (OPRI) of SPF, has been appointed as a Member of the Advisory Board of the 1000 Ocean Startups Coalition, a global initiative accelerating ocean impact entrepreneurship. In this role, he will contribute to the strategic direction and operationalization of the Ocean Impact Navigator (OIN), ensuring its effective integration into the coalition’s broader activities.
