Japan training for Japanese language teachers from Chinese universities
SPF held the foundation’s inaugural training program for Japanese language teachers from July 31 to August 28, with all 23 participants coming from China. The participants spent three weeks studying at the Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute, followed by field training with the hope that the participants could play an active role in deepening the bonds between Japan and China in the future.

Shifting from “why” to “how” in gender lens investing
On October 6, the Gender Investment and Innovation Program, 2X Global, and Investing in Women co-organized “Gender Lens Investing: From ‘Why’ to ‘How,’” an official side event for the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) in Person summit in Tokyo. This side event featured a series of lectures and group discussions to deepen the participants’ understanding of gender lens investing (GLI), a strategy that integrates gender-based factors into investment decisions resulting in positive social outcomes in addition to financial returns.

The Japan-U.S. program worked with the RAND Corporation in the U.S., for a research project from 2022-2023 on allies' perspectives on possible changes in the U.S. relationship with Taiwan. On October 5, a webinar on this report was held welcoming three experts from RAND who gave a background and overview of the report followed by discussions with Japanese experts.
