The Center for Mediation Support held the fourth regular study session on peace mediation support

On September 9, 2026, the Center for Mediation Support of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation held its fourth regular study session, bringing together fellows with expertise in different regions and fields.
 
In this study session, Mr. Tomoaki Yoshida, Research Fellow of the National Institute for Defense Studies, gave a presentation on “Issues, Structure, and Situation of the Yemeni Civil War: The End of a State of ‘Neither War Nor Peace’” focusing on the development of the Yemeni civil war, state of the war, and prospects. This was followed by an exchange of views among the participants.
 
The Center for Mediation Support of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation will continue to build a network of experts studying conflict-affected regions and their surrounding areas, deepen understanding of the structure and background of conflicts through academic analysis, and apply these insights to mediation support activities.
