Dr. Akiko Horiba, Director of the Center for Mediation Support, Spoke at the East Asia Gender Equality Forum

On May 27, 2026, Dr. Akiko Horiba, Director of the Center for Mediation Support at the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, spoke at the East Asia Gender Equality Forum held in Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Horiba introduced the newly established Center for Mediation Support, which was launched in April, and delivered a keynote address on the importance of Women, Peace and Security (WPS) in East Asia.

The event was organized by the Taiwanese NGO Foundation for Women’s Rights Promotion and Development. Under the annual theme of “Promoting Women in Security Governance and Building Resilience through Positive Peace,” practitioners and experts from Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan working in the field of WPS gathered for lively discussions.
