Project Outline
Against the backdrop of superpower rivalry between the United States, Russia, and China, the U.S. allies in Europe and the Indo-Pacific have been working together on security issues, although no concrete strategies have been discussed as yet. In order to build a framework for more constructive cooperation, these countries need to improve their understanding of each other’s security environments and policies through dialogue and joint research studies involving key personnel.
The aim of this project is to forge a path forward for maintaining effective deterrence and defense postures among U.S. allies in Europe and the Indo-Pacific region, while at the same time promoting cooperation between the two regions in the context of global power shifts. To this end, this project seeks to strengthen mutual understanding among experts and identify obstacles between the powers, thereby setting out common issues and challenges.
