Gakken Learning Through Manga "Secrets of the Ocean" (electric version)

Secrets of the Ocean
Ocean Policy Research Institute, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, collaborated with Gakken Co., Ltd. to produce "Secrets of the Ocean," part of the Gakken Learning Through Manga Series for elementary school students.

The production of this book was carried out as part of the "Ocean Education Pioneer School Project," a project subsidized by the Nippon Foundation, with the hope that many elementary school students, their parents and educators will take an interest in the ocean in the midst of the public's growing disillusionment with the sea.
In this book, we have tried to convey in an easy-to-understand manner how the ocean and people are both influenced by  each other, while addressing a wide range of natural, industrial, and environmental issues of the ocean.
The printed book in Japanese (not for sale) was donated to approximately 20000 elementary schools, 3200 public libraries, and 800 children's centers throughout Japan through Gakken.

Electronic version of "Secrets of the Ocean" both in Japanese and English are available from website of Gakken;
