Through scholarship support to the World Maritime University (WMU), we aim to contribute to the field of international education, foster leaders in the maritime and ocean fields, and strengthen a network of individuals capable of addressing future international maritime issues. Additionally, we promote international exchange and cooperation with maritime and ocean-related educational institutions worldwide.

FY2025 Implementation Items
1. Operation of the WMU Sasakawa Fellowship Program
Fellowships are provided for the MSc program at WMU, primarily targeting young officers involved in maritime administration.
2. Promotion of Interaction among Sasakawa Fellowship Students
We provide follow-up support to Sasakawa Fellowship Students during their time at WMU, offer opportunities for interaction among Sasakawa Fellowship Students, and establish a foundation for networking after graduation.
3. Maintenance of the Sasakawa Fellows Network
We disseminate information and provide opportunities for interaction to maintain the network of Sasakawa Fellows who have graduated with the support of the Sasakawa Fellowship Program.
4. Exchange and Support with Maritime Universities and Related Organizations around the world
We support related organizations and institutions and promote collaborative cooperation.
