In our country, the number of the artificial coastlines covered by seawall and concrete armor units is rapidly increasing. It is known to all that this has something to do with coastal erosion, on the other hand, from the land to the sea, planting sand dunes with trees and promoting land use are causing many natural sand dunes to narrow rapidly.

Japan's foundation is shaking with the decline of primary industries, including the fishing industry. The decline has caused the loss of the food supply base and environmental destruction to say the least. It is imperative to create "new" primary industries by incorporating the advancements in IT, life science and resource management science and to convert Japan's industrial structure from a "hard" one to a "soft" one.
