Assistant Director for Administrative Division, Town Office, Okushiricho, HokkaidoOn July 12, 1993, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake off the southwest coast of Hokkaido created a devastating 29m tsunami and stripped the island down in a blink of an eye.It's hard to recover from the ruins, however, the town organized a project team of 14, held up the three pillars of reconstruction, accident prevention, and regional development, and aimed for full recovery from this disaster. -
