Michael C. Huang, Senior Research Fellow at the Ocean Policy Research Institute (OPRI) of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, has been appointed as a Member of the Advisory Board of the 1000 Ocean Startups Coalition, a global initiative accelerating ocean impact entrepreneurship. In this role, he will contribute to the strategic direction and operationalization of the Ocean Impact Navigator (OIN), ensuring its effective integration into the coalition’s broader activities.

The advisory board meeting was held during the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice, France (9-13 June, 2025). The coalition’s executive leadership body, known as the “Lighthouse”, is hosted by the Ocean Action Agenda of the World Economic Forum. His advisory role is expected to support the development of effective tools and collaborative frameworks for scaling ocean solutions to construct ecosystems for ocean investment.
