Project Outline
Amidst rapid change in Japan's security environment, it is important that we are prepared for future contingencies through enhanced levels of whole-of-society resilience. This project provides an independent and non-partisan vehicle for discussion of long-term national strategy issues that governments have limited capacity to address due to the constraints of the political system. Drawing on expertise from across a wide range of fields not limited to security and defense, we conduct analyses and formulate recommendations that serve as input into governmental policy documents. We investigate the essential elements in preventing disruption to government operations and services in times of crisis, as well as ways to boost resilience across Japanese society.
