Future of International Peace Operation II
FY2025
Implementing Agency | Sasakawa Peace Foundation |
---|---|
Year | First year of a two-year project |
Project Type | Self Operated |
Budget | 8,000,000 yen |
Project Outline
This project explores Japan’s role in international peace operations in light of recent developments in the international order, with a view to stimulating discussion and debate on government policy. Despite the general lack of debate and clarity in relation to this area of policy in Japan, SPF’s extensive knowledge base and networks enable us to serve as a platform for comprehensive and wide-ranging discussion. The Phase I findings will be used to produce reports on the latest developments in international peacekeeping operations and as the basis for instigating joint research studies with like-minded nations; presenting the Japanese government with new policy options; and enhancing our influence within the international community, particularly with regard to global security and stability.
