On July 3, Mr. Atul Khare, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Operational Support, paid a courtesy visit to SPF Executive Director Nobukatsu Kanehara ahead of an event at the foundation commemorating the 10th anniversary of the UN Triangular Partnership Programme (TPP). The two parties exchanged views on the importance of the TPP and agreed that nations need to remain engaged in peacekeeping and peacebuilding. They also shared examples of how the TPP has made significant impact on mission performance by providing effective training in times of crisis.

The two sides discussed the importance of quality over quantity in peacekeeping operations, noting that people trained under the TPP perform more effectively and efficiently.
