"The Sasakawa Peace Foundation will organize a conference by H.E. Mr. Khemaies JHINAOUI, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Tunisia on “Tunisia, From Democratic Transition to Economic Take Off” on Thursday 2nd November, 2017.

Tunisia, the only country to have emerged from the Arab Spring uprisings of 2011 as a genuine democracy, offers a model of a successful democratic transition and a template of co-existence and consensus between competing secular and religiously-inspired parties. Aware that economic recovery is at the heart of keeping Tunisia’s transition on track, the National Unity Government has embarked on an ambitious economic development agenda to address unemployment and regional disparities and to meet demands for a quality inclusive growth. Many reforms have already entered into force and are expected to create a business-friendly environment conductive to stronger domestic and foreign investment.

This lecture is a valuable opportunity to learn about Tunisia's current situation, challenges, foreign policy and relations with Japan. We hope you will join us at what promises to be a highly informative event.
