At the invitation of the Sasakawa Middle East Islam Fund (SMEIF), two experts from Sabanci University of Turkey will give lectures on Friday 11 November 2016.

One of SMEIF’s project entitled "The Changing Geopolitics of the Middle East: Inter-Regional Cooperation and Globalization" aims to provide scholars from Turkey and Asia with a platform to discuss areas of future cooperation between the Middle East and Asia based on fieldwork research findings.

In this seminar, Dr. Pinar Akpinar, who has been conducting field research in three countries in Lebanon, Qatar and Tunisia, will share her findings. Meanwhile Dr. Bulent Aras, who is a coordinator of the project, will address the current situation of Turkey and the Middle East in addition to the scope of the whole project. Ms. Akiko Yoshioka, an expert on contemporary Iraqi politics and economy, will moderate the panel discussion and Q & A session.

We do hope that you will join us at this informative event.
