On Aug 24, "Prospects for the China-Europe Relationship and Global Implications"

On August 24, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation will host Dr. Kent E. Calder, Director of Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University.

As an expert on Japanese politics, International Relations in East Asia, and International Political Economy, Dr. Calder has published a lot of books and papers, including Asia in Washington (Brookings Institution Press, 2014), and The New Continentalism (Yale University Press, 2012).

Among others, Dr. Calder will discuss about the relationship between China and Europe; Why the China-Europe relationship is important? What are the implications of this relationship for the world in the view of geopolitics, economy, finance, and security? Why and how the relationship matters for Japan and the United States? Looking at the history and future of this relationship, Dr. Calder will also touch upon BREXIT and its implications for China-Europe relations.
