On March 23, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF) will host Dr. Adam S. Posen, President of the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) as part of our program of Japan-U.S. Economic Forum, which promotes strategic discussion between economists from the two countries.
Dr. Posen is one of the world's foremost specialists on macroeconomic policies. He had held various important posts including Member of Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England (BOE), Adviser to the US Congressional Budget Office, and Member of Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in the United States.
The world currently shares uncertainty over the economic outlook. For example, a joint communique issued at the end of G-20 central bankers and finance ministers in Shanghai in February said “downside risk and vulnerabilities have risen”, reflecting anxiety toward Chinese economy and the rekindling credit impairment in Europe. Dr. Posen will speak about world economy outlook of 2016.
We welcome your active participation.
