Mongolia and its Constructive Contributions to Northeast Asian Security Issues

Co-hosts : Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF), Yokosuka Council on Asia-Pacific Studies (YCAPS)
YCAPS-SPF Community Conversation (Misawa) Mongolia and its Constructive Contributions to Northeast Asian Security Issues
YCAPS & the Sasakawa Peace Foundation are delighted to announce the next event in the Community Conversations Seminar Series in the Misawa community! This event will feature Mr. Otgonbaatar Byambaa, diplomat and First Secretary at the Embassy of Mongolia in Tokyo, Japan, who will lead us in a discussion on how Mongolia contributes to Northeast Asian security issues.

Given its friendly relations with all the regional countries and beyond, Mongolia has been actively seeking to contribute to Northeast Asian security issues through multilateral dialogues since the late 1980s. Eventually, it has been playing an important role in peace and security in Northeast Asia in recent decades. Landlocked between Russia and China, Mongolia is perceived as small in terms of population and economic capacity but influential in terms of its proactive diplomacy and its glorious history.

*This will be a hybrid in-person/online event! For those not in the Misawa area, we will broadcast the talk live on zoom and have a moderator to present questions from the online audience during the Q&A session.

*Please register in advance for your preferred participation method from the registration buttons on this page.

*According to local government recommendations, mask usage will be optional; however, we ask that you please refrain from attending (in-person) if you have Flu-like symptoms.
