The Sasakawa Peace Foundation is honoured to invite you to attend an international symposium on Japan's energy security, with Dr. Phyllis Yoshida.

Report: Japan’s Energy Conundrum: A Discussion of Japan’s Energy Circumstances and U.S.-Japan Energy Relations

In this symposium, we also invite Mr. Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency by taking the opportuny of his visit in Japan and ask him a special speech on Japan's energy security.

Phyllis Genther Yoshida is the Senior Fellow for Energy and Technology at the Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA. Prior to joining Sasakawa USA, she served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia, Europe, and the Americas at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).




Fatih Birol (born 22 March 1958, in Ankara) is a Turkish economist and energy expert, who has been the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) since 1 September 2015. He previously served as the Chief Economist and Director of Global Energy Economics at the IEA in Paris.
