On October 15, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation will host Mr. Strobe Talbott, President of the Brookings Institution, on "The Japan-U.S. Partnership in an Unsettled World."

In this event, Mr. Talbott will offer an overview of the geopolitical challenges facing the world and their implications for the Japan-U.S. partnership. Following his remarks, Mr. Talbott will have intensive discussion with Mr. Funabashi and the audience. We welcome your insightful questions and active participation.

Details of the event are as follows:
Mr. Strobe Talbott President of the Brookings Institution
Mr. Talbott is a leading expert on U.S. foreign policy with particular expertise on American foreign policy, Europe, Russia, South Asia, and nuclear arms control. Educated at Yale and Oxford, he was a foreign-affairs reporter, Washington bureau chief, and columnist for Time magazine for 21 years, then Deputy Secretary of State in the Clinton administration. He chairs the Foreign Affairs Policy Board of the State Department. He has written twelve books and many articles that cover important topics from national security to climate change.
