On April 25, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation hosted Dr. Martin Jacques, the author of the book ‘When China Rules the World: the End of the Western World and the Birth of a New Global Order’, to discuss the future of China and the consequent global order.

The economic boost of China fosters a lot of discussion about its impact all over the world. Chinese economic rise will eventually leads to political, cultural and military rise of China. However, because of its profound difference in history, culture and political system, it is not very likely that we see China being westernized anytime soon. With its economic power, how will this new country affect the world? Dr. Martin Jacques who is the author of the global best-seller ‘When China Rules the World’ explains what China is like now and discusses what will be in the future.

Dr. Martin Jacques
Dr. Jacques has been a columnist and still actively writing articles to worldwide newspaper and journals. Also, he has been invited to give lectures at many of the world’s top universities.
