Project Outline
The outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine has brought about a growing strategic alignment between Russia and China in the Indo-Pacific region, raising concerns about the impact on the security environment surrounding Japan.
This project seeks to establish a framework for dialogue between experts on Russia and China from the U.S., Japan’s ally, as well as expanding this network to include experts from Japan, in order for Japan and the U.S. to foster a common understanding of Russia-China relations and to contribute to the formulation of Japanese diplomatic and defense policy. A website dedicated to Russia will also be set up to share basic information with a wider community.
