Project Outline
This project aims to carry out a number of research activities in order to shed light on policy issues that will be the subject of discussions in the future and explore solutions to the forthcoming challenges we face. This fiscal year in particular, we will deepen the ongoing debates on the topics of 1) legal issues related to national security in new operational domains such as cyber, and 2) disinformation in the Indo-Pacific region. We will also conduct research on the new topic of 3) active cyber defense.
By providing a forum for discussions and sharing information on these policy challenges and their solutions, we seek to contribute to the strengthening of Japan’s security by ringing the alarm broadly across society and encouraging action by the government.
