Focusing on the new domains of space and cyber, this project will summarize issues and challenges related to deterrence and escalation control in these new domains, as well as cross-domain deterrence efforts arising from interactions with existing domains, in order to gain knowledge that will contribute to the defense of Japan and the maintenance of security in the Indo-Pacific region.

In this, the final year of the project, we will carry out empirical studies based on the issues that were gathered in the previous year and summarize the results in reports, thereby contributing to future efforts related to security in the new domains.
