Project Outline
This project aims to contribute to the international discussions surrounding the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Agenda, by bringing together expertise derived from practical experiences and an understanding of challenges faced in conflict affected areas, as we believe the disconnection between policy framework and practical knowledge in the fields is one of the major hurdles to be overcome in promoting this agenda. This involves research on interplay between gender equality, masculinities and peacebuilding, collecting qualitative and quantitative data from former conflict areas in Southeast Asia. We will share the findings with the international community. This project also works with both local and overseas legislators, policymakers, and experts to foster international dialogue on pursuing the WPS Agenda in Japan.
