Project Outline
This project aims to propose a comprehensive and realistic approach for “disengagement from violence” (rather than “deradicalization”), targeting communities susceptible to violent extremism in Asia, incorporating the latest psychological research and understanding of the local context in each specific field. In addition, this project aims to contribute to the deepening of research on extremism by investigating violence associated with religious extremism other than Islam, and sharing the findings and experiences with experts in Japan and abroad.
