Project Type | Self Operated |
Budget | 20,000,000 yen |
Project Outline
In FY 2019, SPF in collaboration with the UK NGO Conciliation Resources published the Accord Spotlight journal and the Accord magazine, both of which highlighted the importance of the pre-talk phase that occurs before official peace negotiations among conflicting parties. Using the case studies from around the world that were featured in the latest issue of the Accord, this project aims to facilitate policy dialogues in New York and Tokyo to share the results of these analyses with a wide range of international organizations, NGOs, and government bodies around the world. Findings to be shared include the critical importance of the understanding of the local context through political and actor analysis in the conflict region, trust building between conflicting parties, challenges that arise from third-party intervention, as well as the insights gained from SPF’s long term commitment pursuing peacebuilding in Southern Thailand.
