Project Outline
In order to build a foundation for the future relationship between Japan and the Pacific Island countries, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation will implement internship training programs for young government officials, as well as a Young Pacific Island Practitioners’ Forum, primarily for students from Pacific Island countries studying in Japan. In addition, to ensure that accurate information is passed on to future generations, the SPF will promote the collection of historical information on the former South Sea Islands, conduct research on the influence of development partners, and advance people-to-people exchanges through Austronesian culture.
