Project Outline
In Palau and the Pacific Island region, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation will promote the Sasakawa Model of community-based ecotourism, aiming to balance the conservation of nature and culture with economic benefits for local communities. In Japan, internship training programs will be implemented in which local guides and tourism bureau officials from participating countries will join, further developing human resources to help realize sustainable tourism. SPF will also promote regional collaboration to mainstream sustainable tourism in the Pacific Island region.
