To support economic growth while conserving the natural resources and culture of Palau, this project aims to establish a method of tourist site management by tourism carrying capacity surveys and community based ecotourism. These efforts in Palau will be shared with other Micronesian countries and regional organizations to serve as a model for sustainable tourism. More broadly, this project will contribute to the development of sustainable societies in the Pacific island nations through the creation of a regional tourism policy.
