Project Outline
The efforts of the international community to limit military uses of nuclear technology while maintaining peaceful uses such as energy generation have reached a critical juncture. As a nation in possession of advanced nuclear technology, Japan is no bystander in this discussion. This project draws upon the expertise of domestic and international networks of experts in nuclear non-proliferation, energy, and nuclear technology to engage in scenario gaming for the purpose of developing projections for the future of nuclear technology in the 2040s, along with a coherent set of principles for the near future encompassing nuclear policy in Japan and a framework for nuclear non-proliferation at the international level.
