Year | First year of a three-year project |
Program Type | Self Operated |
Budget | 90,000,000 yen |
Project Outline
This project builds on the outcome of the Japan-U.S. Opinion Leader Exchange program, which has been carried out in four phases since FY 2008. The project focuses on expanding and strengthening network building between Japanese and American individuals and organizations in the policy community by employing a multi-faceted approach including a personnel invitation program, dispatch to the U.S. programs, and organization-level cooperation. Through these approaches and activities, we aim to expand and deepen a closer network of experts and institutions between Japan and the United States that understands “changes in the United States,” “Japan-U.S. relations in a diversifying diplomatic and security environment,” and “the changing international order and the roles of Japan and the United States,” and can consider ideas regarding new partnerships and new collaboration between the two countries in this changing world.
