Project Outline
The West Asia region has long been characterized by geopolitical tensions involving the Arab nations. The stability of this region has a direct bearing on the peace and security of the international community. The combination of general instability in the regional order and multiple ongoing wars and conflicts has created a grave humanitarian crisis. SPF believes that multifaceted analysis of the situation together with a resolute commitment to pursuing dialogue initiatives will be indispensable in working to seek a resolution.
This project draws on the accumulated expertise and networks cultivated by SPF in the areas of international relations and regional studies to provide a foundation for political dialogue designed to enable policy makers, researchers, and practitioners to engage in wide-ranging discussions on an array of issues. By facilitating multilateral dialogue involving regional and international bodies and a wide variety of other stakeholders, SPF promotes considered analysis of and meaningful agreement on pertinent issues, thereby helping to nurture relationships predicated on trust. By pursuing deeper dialogue between Japan and West Asian countries, SPF is working to establish a knowledge platform designed to promote regional stability and encourage cooperation initiatives.
