March 26 Symposium "Advancing Research Excellence through Gender Equality"
~ Catalyzing Policy and Practice through Assessment ~
(March 26th, 2018)

March 26, 2018
Advancing gender equality in research has become a top priority for many leading research nations. As demonstrated by an increasing number of national funding and policy organizations (including Athena SWAN (UK), NSF (US), SAGE (Australia), DFG (Germany), EU Horizon 2020 (EU) and others), data and assessment of processes that promote gender equality are key mechanisms to help institutions strengthen and diversify their researcher and staff base, create better workplaces and form the foundation for internationally-competitive research.

This policy action dialogue symposium aims to build an international community of practice, to inform design and implementation of assessment frameworks, and policies to support gender equality. The workshop will provide a forum to discuss the wider impact of policies and assessment frameworks from Japan, UK, US and Australia, and practices that advance gender equality and research excellence.

We look forward to your participation.
