Project Outline
The content creation and entertainment sectors have an important role to play in fostering deeper understanding between the people of Japan and China and in expanding the number of people who take an interest in the other country. However, compared to other fields of study, this sector is lacking both in the accumulation of academic knowledge and in interactions between related parties. Greater engagement by the people involved, increased knowledge sharing, and mutual understanding are all necessary to establish a strong Japan-China relationship in the entertainment sector.
By having researchers and practitioners from the Japanese and Chinese content and entertainment industries participate in exchange visits and joint research, the project seeks to identify sound models for collaboration and explore methods for deepening the understanding of people in both nations. It will also strengthen the network of interested parties in both countries and consider how to continue to build relationships in the content and entertainment sectors, with the ultimate goal of helping to foster an environment for improving relations between Japan and China.
