Project Outline
This project, which arranges exchange visits between field officers from the Japan Self-Defense Forces and the Chinese People's Liberation Army, has been running as a non-governmental initiative since FY 2001. Its goal is to equip a new generation of young officers with a deeper understanding of each other’s nation. While in-person exchanges in both Japan and China have been suspended since FY 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project is looking ahead to the post-covid world and working to foster mutual understanding and facilitate friendships by continuing to act as a venue for interaction and dialogue between active military personal from Japan and China.
