Project Outline
Against a background of increasing polarization and fracturing within the international community, this project seeks to foster greater peace and stability in the strategically important region of Northeast India. Despite the enormous geopolitical significance of this region, engagement through official channels has often been hindered by the ongoing level of instability such as tribal conflicts and disputed border areas. SPF instead seeks to leverage networks and relationships built up over the course of previous projects to engage with political representatives at the state and national levels as well as local citizens’ groups and community organizations. The ultimate aim is to contribute to peace and stability in the region through dialogue and collaboration, in turn strengthening bilateral relations between Japan and India.
