Project Outline
Northeast India, a region that connects South and Southeast Asia, has been gaining attention as a pivot-point that is geopolitically vital for the Indian government’s Act East policy as well as the Japanese government’s Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) strategy. However, the region’s complex history and enduring divisions between communities have long been a source of conflict. This project explores the possibility for fostering new industries and leaders who value the local culture and environment of Northeast India. Specifically, the project will support the development of young and female entrepreneurs, conduct research and dissemination of information, and invite leaders from Northeast India.
