Project Outline
Based on the recognition that the opportunities for intellectual exchange and dialogue between Japan and other countries in Asia are diminishing as Japan's economic influence in the region declines, this project seeks to reinforce the partnership between Japan and other countries in Asia by facilitating dialogues among experts and civil society members covering topics of mutual concern. Until now, this project has promoted expert dialogues on themes such as population aging in Asia, ecosystem development in support of female entrepreneurs, as well as violent extremism and de-radicalization. This fiscal year, as we face the crisis of COVID-19 pandemic, the research and dialogues under this project will explore the roles of civil societies in Asia, protection of migrant workers, and the relationship between business and human rights.
