Project Outline
For the final year of this project, the two research fellows from Japan and the UK have been tasked with compiling the results of their field research conducted in FY 2019 into a report to be presented in academic conferences and other events. The research undertaken by the Japanese fellow, a political specialist, takes a close look at the monarchy in Jordan. The research by the UK fellow, who specializes in social and cultural anthropology, examines the issue of national borders in Southern Lebanon. The two fellows are also collaborating on a joint research project, with plans to release the findings at a workshop held in September at Oxford University.
