Who will really benefit from the deregulation of small boats?
Miyuki OkudaDirector, Kamakura Ocean Protection Society Council / Member, Kanagawa Fishing and Ocean Use Consultative Council
I think that the easy popularization of private boats through the deregulation of small crafts is problematic. It is absolutely essential to understand the background beyond the control of the government's vertical administrative structure, and to observe and discuss the state of affairs. It is fine to promote marine leisure, but it is not acceptable for private boat owners to disregard fishing manners and local rules. How to inform and make portable boat users adhere to standards is an important issue.
