I would like to give a report on my near 3-month sailing experience, participating in the onboard training of Denmark’s sailing vessel, the DANMARK. There were many fascinating development and training programs unique to the Ordinary Seaman (OS) international certification. Experiencing life in one room with a large number of people all sleeping in hammocks developed teamwork and communication skills. Beginning with English education, it was a learning environment well-adapted to current conditions in the shipping industry, all the while passing down sailing ship traditions.
